Mares? Mares!!!

Mare-posting is the collective phenomenon of typing, screaming, and generally responding with "MARES". In the beginning, it was often in response seeing a mare, but it has developed into its own.. subculture? Either way, mares and Mare-posting has led to much uplift and content creation throughout the entire board, and it is to be respected and admired for at least that reason.

Mare-posting began during the weekly Rewatch Stream in response to seeing or noticing a mare doing something particularly cute, most often a background mare. Although it began with a few posters doing this, it grew organically as others joined in on the fun, as do most memes like this. During the Hearth's Warming Stream, the :mare:, :mares:, :maresfast:, and :maresfaster: emotes were created and amplified it even more (but not :maresspin:, which was added later I believe).

While Mares is the most common response, it is very often iterated upon in various other ways, often for comedic effect.
